Supplementary Pay Codes for Oncost Calculations

Description


FastTrack360 supports the linking of a pay code to another pay code, referred to as a supplementary pay code, so that the pay rate of the supplementary pay code can be used in pay and bill oncost calculations instead of the pay rate of the pay code itself. For example, an overtime pay code can be linked to an ordinary time pay code so that when overtime is paid, the pay or bill oncost for the pay item can be calculated based on the ordinary time pay rate instead of the overtime pay rate.

Benefits

This enhancement allows oncost calculations to be based on a different pay rate from that of the pay code against which a pay item is paid. This can be used to, for example, prevent margin creep when passing on oncosts to clients.

Configuration

To facilitate linking a pay code to a supplementary pay code, a Supplementary Oncost Calculation Pay Codes tab has been added to the Rates & Rules > Maintenance > Pay Code > Pay Code Entry screen, as highlighted in the example below.
