Dollar Based Pay and Bill Oncosts
Description
Pay and bill oncosts rates can be defined as a flat monetary amount from this release on.
To facilitate this, a new field labelled Rate Type has been added to the Rates and Rules > Maintenance > Pay Oncost/BillOncost Maintenance > Edit Oncost > Oncost Rate Entry, which is highlighted in the example below.
The Rate Type field defaults to Percentage Based, thereby allowing an oncost rate to be based on a percentage value, as per previous functionality, but the alternative option of Dollar Based can be selected if the oncost rate is to be based on a flat monetary amount instead.
If the Dollar Based option is selected, the system will calculate an oncost by multiplying the quantity of units worked against a pay code, which is linked to the oncost, by the flat monetary amount.
Benefits
This enhancement adds the flexibility to allow oncost rates to be based on a fixed monetary amount instead of being limited to a percentage value.
Configuration
To configure a pay or bill oncost rate so that it is based on a fixed amount instead of a percentage, on the Rates and Rules > Maintenance > Oncost > Pay Oncost/Bill Oncost Maintenance > Edit Oncost > Oncost Rate Entry screen select the Dollar Based option in the Rate Type field and then key in the applicable flat rate value in the Rate ($) field, as shown in the example below.
Â
if the Rate Type field is set to Dollar Based then it is not possible to link the oncost rate to an oncost header and therefore the Linked Oncost Header field on the Oncost Rate Entry screen is unavailable.
