FastTrack360 Version 12 Online Help
Oncost Loading Performance Improvements
Description
At the point of opening the Rates and Rules > Maintenance > Oncost > Oncost Maintenance > Oncost Entry screen to view or edit an existing oncost, FastTrack360 previously checked for the latest end date of any timesheet that had already been interpreted using that oncost. That date was then populated in the Last Timesheet End Date field in the header of the Oncost Entry screen and provided a guide as to the earliest date when a new oncost rate could take effect.
However, the process of retrieving the date to populate in the Last Timesheet End Date field had a negative affect on system performance, especially for oncosts that had large numbers of historic and current rates assigned at various hierarchy levels, which could result in loading of the Oncost Entry screen taking an excessive amount of time.
To overcome this problem, the system no longer retrieves the last timesheet end date when you open the Oncost Entry screen. However, validation is still applied at the point of saving an existing oncost to check that the effective dates of any new rates that have been added fall after the last timesheet end date, as was the case in previous versions of FastTrack360, to ensure that the historical integrity of the oncost rates is maintained.
Because the system no longer retrieves the last timesheet end date when loading the details and rates associated with an oncost in the Oncost Entry screen, the Last Timesheet End Date field has been removed from the header of that screen.
Benefits
This enhancement significantly reduces the time taken to open the Oncost Entry screen and to load all individual rates associated with an oncost.
