Description
Currently there are inconsistencies between the display of picklist and radio items in Custom Fields in primary records (Parent, Client, Cost Centre, Contact, Job, Candidate) whereby the order of display in the Custom Fields screen in Maintenance > Custom Fields is different to the order displayed in the record.
To provide control over sort order of Custom Field picklist and radio items, in this release we have added a sort order field to each list value (shown below), so that the order can be defined in maintenance. Where no sort order sequence is applied, by default the picklist / radio items will display in the record alphabetically / numerically.
Secondly, where a default has been set in the past, once assigned, you can only change the item the default applies to, but not remove it completely. With this release we have added a new action Clear Default, and where saved, the default will no longer apply to the related custom field item.
Benefits
This enhancement provides control over the display of Custom Field picklist and radio items in the related record and control over removing defaults on custom fields where no longer required.
Configuration
Custom Fields are configured in Maintenance > Custom Fields. On upgrade to this release, should you wish to define the sort order of these lists, please update your existing radio / picklist custom field items.
