Configuration of Security Permissions for STP

FastTrack360 users who are to be authorised to submit payroll information to the ATO via STP must have the following security permissions assigned to their security role in Maintenance > Role-Data Groups:

Application

Permission

Control Level

Description

Statutory Reporting (AU)

STP
Submission

View

Allows access to the Payroll Australia > ATO Electronic Report > STP Pay Batch screen.

From that screen, a user with this permission can search for a closed pay batch and can do the following:

  • check the STP submission status of the pay batch

  • view the STP submission audit for the pay batch

  • view any submission errors that were returned when the pay batch was submitted though STP.

Full

As per the View control level but also allows a user to submit pay batches through STP.

STP EOFY

View

Allows access to the Payroll Australia > ATO Electronic Report > STP EOFY screen.

From that screen, a user with this permission can search for a STP EOFY batches:

  • check the STP submission status of the EOFY batch

  • view the STP submission audit for the EOFY batch

  • view any submission errors that were returned when the EOFY batch was submitted though STP.

Full

As per the View control level but also allows a user to submit EOFY batches through STP.

On upgrading to FastTrack360 from a version earlier than v11.34 Patch 3, the STP Submission permission will be automatically enabled with a control level of View for all agency user security roles that, prior to upgrade, included the Gross Wage > Electronic Reporting (AU NZ) permission. If any of those security roles require the ability to submit pay batches through STP, you will need to enable the Full control level for those security roles.

If you are upgrading to FastTrack360 from any other platform, you will need to create new user security roles in Maintenance > Role-Data Groups and enable the STP Submission permission for those security roles, with the View or Full control level enabled depending on the permission level that is to apply to each respective security role.

If a user has the STP Submission permission with the Full control level, a Submit STP option is displayed on the confirmation prompt that is displayed when a user attempts to close a pay batch, as highlighted below. If the user ticks the Submit STP option on closing of a pay batch, the STP Pay Batch Submission screen opens automatically to allow the user to submit the pay batch they have just closed through STP. If the user chooses not to tick the Submit STP option, they can manually navigate to the STP Pay Batch Submission screen and submit the pay batch at a later time.

If a user has the STP Submission permission with the Full control level, a prompt is also displayed on closing of an adjustment pay batch. However, the option to close the current pay period is not available when closing an adjustment pay batch.

The STP EOFY permission will not be assigned to any security roles by default and will have to be added to the relevant security roles for those users who require the ability to view or run the STP EOFY process.
