Employment Type Maintenance

Employment types are a means of grouping payees who are subject to similar employment conditions. They define the attendance and absence types that are available for a payee on their timesheets in the Time and Attendance module and the absence types that are available for a payee in the Leave Request Module.

Payees must be assigned an employment type before they can be assigned to a pay group. Therefore, a payee cannot be included in a pay batch and so cannot be paid until they are assigned an employment type. Pay company default settings can also be based on employment types.

Before employment types can be configured, the attendance and absence types that can apply to each employment type must be configured in Recruitment Maintenance > Attendance/Absence.
