Add a Custom Validation to a BPME rule
Custom Validations can be developed by FastTrack to run a specific script where BPME alone is not able to cater for the requirement. Custom Validation items are developed at a time and material cost.
Contact your FastTrack Professional Services representative for more details if required.
To add a Custom Validation to a BPME rule:
1 | Open the BPME tool in the Maintenance module. The BPME Maintenance screen is displayed.
2 | For an existing Rule, find the item in the hierarchy, right click and select Edit to open the item. For a new rule, follow the steps described in Create a BPME Global rule, Create a BPME Parent or Client specific rule as required to open the Add Rule screen. The Add or Edit rule screen is displayed.
3 | Select Add Custom Validation. The new rule item is displayed.
4 | Next to the Stored Proc item, select the drop down arrow. A list of custom items is displayed.
5 | Select the custom item required. The custom item is applied.
6 | Apply the Action by using the drop down arrow and selecting the item required. The selected Action displays. The Action determines if the record user is able to save the record. Where 'Don't Save' is selected, the user will not be able to save the record. Where 'Warn Only' is selected the user can save the record.
7 | Enter the message required in the Message field. The message entered displays. Where the Field Rule conditions are met, the message is displayed to the record user.
8 | Select Save Changes. The Custom Validation item is saved. |
