Copy Job with link to Job Template Rates

Description

Currently where a user copies a job and selects to ‘Copy Rates’, if the existing job has a Job Template assigned, the linked template’s rates are not retained in the newly copied job. This can be time consuming for the user where the link to the template’s rates is required, as a secondary manual step is then needed to find and assign the Job Template to the new job.

In this release we have updated the Copy Job feature, to include the ability to tick where the Job Template Rate Link needs to be applied to the new job.

The Include Job Template Rate Link checkbox is editable where the existing Job has a Job Template assigned and the rates are still linked

therefore if the rates reside at the Job Order level, the checkbox is not editable.

Where a user wishes to replicate rates residing at the Job Order level, they can tick 'Copy Job's Rates'. The same validations will apply to ensure that the new Job's duration (Start Date, End Date) is compatible with the linked rates.

Where Include Job Template Rate Link is true, as per the existing process, other components ticked to copy, like 'Shift Pattern', 'Skills' are copied directly from the Job and not applied as per the Job Template. For example if the Job Template had a Job Schedule defined, that was subsequently changed by a user once assigned to a Job, where the job is copied the current Job Schedule will be copied.

Benefits

This enhancement will save users time where multiple jobs need to be created that utilise the Job Template rates that display in the existing job. For example where Standard Rates are being managed via a Job Template, it will now be possible for a user to quickly create a family of Jobs using the Standard Rates assigned to the incumbent Job Template.
