Copy a Job

Where an existing job matches a new requirement, use the Copy Job action to create a new Job Order. The following options are available:

  • Create independent copies of the job, where the jobs created are not part of a 'family'.

  • Create multiple copies of the job by entering the number required in the No. of Copies to Create item.

  • Create a copy of the job and make it a 'family' of the job you are copying, by selecting Add to Existing Job Family.

  • Create new 'family' of jobs, separate to the job you are copying, by selecting Create Job Family. Note: You will need to have a value > 1 in the 'No. of Copies to Create' field in order to see this option.

To copy a job from the job record:

1

Open the Job Order you wish to copy and select Copy Job at the top of the record.

Alternatively open the Client record and navigate to the Jobs section, select Copy next to the job you wish to copy.

The Copy Job screen is displayed.

2

Apply / update items where required and select Create.

  • In the Rates section, where the incumbent job has a Job Template with Rates assigned, you can tick to Include Job Template Rate Link which will copy the link to the to the new job. This means the rates in the new job will be updated where the related Job Template or Agreement rates are updated.

  • If the incumbent job has rates that reside at the Job level (so not linked to a Template or Agreement), the Copy Job’s Rates, item is editable and can be ticked. This will copy the same rates to the new job.

  • If the incumbent job has rates that have not been inherited from a Job Template, but are linked to an Agreement, click Copy Job’s Rates to create a new job with the same rates assigned that are linked to the agreement. Note: The system will advise if the rates cannot be copied ie; the new job’s dates may not be compatible with the agreement.

On 'Create' the new job or jobs will be generated and displayed in the 'Jobs' section of the Client record.

Where Include Job Template Rate Link is true, other components ticked to copy, like 'Shift Pattern', 'Skills' are copied directly from the Job and not applied as per the Job Template. For example if the Job Template had a Job Schedule defined, that was subsequently changed by a user once assigned to a Job, where the job is copied the current Job Schedule will be copied.
