Deduction Header - National Minimum Wage

Description

Where a deduction is applied to a payee that benefits the employer, this value has to reduce the NMW pay. A deduction such as an Admin Fee for administering an AEO would be considered a benefit to the employer.

A deduction header can be set to indicate that it will affect NMW. This will then output a warning in the pay batch calculation report identifying that the payee is in receipt of this deduction and for the user to check if it will reduce the NMW Pay.

The system does not apply this logic to assess the deduction. This is for the user to determine.

In the Deduction Header screen, the following enhancement has been added:

An indicator to identify if a deduction affects NMW.

  • This field is visible when:

    • The Country Hierarchy NMW Enabled flag is checked on and

    • The Deduction Type is Standard

Benefits

Allows users to assess if a deduction needs to be removed from the payee if they fall below the NMW.
