Payee Types - New Zealand

Description

To include the functionality of supplied payees for New Zealand, the definition of the type of supplied payee has been defined against a Payee Type. Payee types did not exist for New Zealand as the payees that could be set up were either PAYE or Contractor. As supplied payees are a subset of a contractor, a further breakdown of Payee Type has been applied.

The following enhancements have been added:

Payee Screen

The Payee Screen displays an additional field Payee Type. The Payee Type displayed is dependent on the Tax Type selected. This is a mandatory field that must be selected.

For all existing payees, if the Tax Type is PAYE, the Payee Type PAYE has automatically been applied. If the Tax Type is Contractor, Payee Type Contractor has automatically been applied.

When adding a new payee, if Tax Type of PAYE is selected, this will automatically apply the Payee Type PAYE.

If Tax Type Contractor is selected, the options of 3rd Tier Agency, Contractor and Umbrella will be displayed in the dropdown to select from.

Once a Payee Type has been assigned to a payee and the record is saved, the Payee Type cannot be amended. The payee record would need to be deleted (if they have not been used in a process such as timesheets or pay batch) and re-entered.

Payee Search

The Payee Type field has been added to the Payroll Details tab to enable searches on the different payee types:

These types work within the Tax Type selected. If Any Tax Type is selected, all Payee Types are displayed as per the screenshot above. If Contractor Tax Type was selected, the Payee Type would display the options of 3rd Tier Agency, Contractor and Umbrella.
