Pay Australia > Payroll > Changes to STP pre and post submission reports (v12.17)

Description

The reports available for STP pay batch and STP EOFY batch submissions and post submissions have been updated in this release to incorporate STP Phase 2 information and to improve the format.

Reports generated for submissions prior to upgrade will display in the old format and reports generated post upgrade will display in the new format.

Changes include:

  • updates to bring the reports in line with the data that is reported under STP Phase 2

  • reporting amounts have been rolled into a single line per payee to provide a better experience for export and external file analysis purposes

  • reduction of the overall data included on the reports to what is necessary for reconciliation against payees' income statements and to perform end of financial year payroll reconciliation.

An example of the new submission report is shown below.

Data from the pre and post submission reports can now also be extracted directly to a Microsoft Excel file (.CSV file extension) for further analysis and manipulation. To facilitate this, an Extract Data button is available next to each STP batch that is listed on the Payroll > ATO Report > STP Pay Batch and Payroll > ATO Report > STP EOFY screens, where the submission status of the corresponding batch is Not Submitted, Completed with Exceptions, Technical Error or Rejected. An example of the Extract Data button is highlighted in the example below.

The Extract Data button is also available on the STP Submission Audit screen, for pay batch and EOFY submissions, to allow post submission report data to be extracted to a file. An example of this is highlighted below.

The data extract exports additional information that is not shown on the pre and post submission reports due to constraints around how much information can be displayed on a report page.

Benefits

These enhancements bring the reports in line with STP Phase 2 data requirements and provides a better experience for export and reconciliation.

Streamlining of the information shown on the reports also means less impact on system performance when generating and displaying the reports.

Configuration

No additional configuration is required.
