Manage an Existing Reason Code

Edit a Reason Code

 An existing reason can be edited whenever necessary, even if it has already been applied to a timesheet, credit note or back pay batch. However, it is not possible to change the country to which an existing adjustment reason applies.

To edit an existing adjustment reason, follow the procedure below.

Navigate to Maintenance > Global Section > Reasons.

The Reason Code List displays.

Use the filters to find the Reason that needs to be edited.

Next to the Reason select Action then Edit.

The Edit Reason popup displays.

Modify any attributes of the Reason as required.

Note: Reasons can be edited, however if they are made inactive, they will not be available for future selection.

Select Save.

The Reason Entry screen closes and a confirmation message opens to indicate that the reason has been saved.

 Delete a Reason Code

An existing reason that is not required can be deleted so long as it has not been used on a timesheet, credit note, in a back pay batch already or applied to a record.

Navigate to Maintenance > Global Section > Reasons.

The Reason Code List displays.

Use the filters to find the Reason that needs to be edited.

Next to the Reason select Action then Delete.

The Delete Reason popup displays.

Click Delete.

A confirmation message is displayed.

Click Yes to continue to delete the reason.

The selected reason is deleted and a confirmation message is displayed. If the item has been applied to a transaction the system will work if it cannot be deleted. In this circumstance it is better to make the item inactive.
