Submission of Leave Requests for All Leave Types

Description

Previously leave requests could not be submitted for absence types that were linked to leave types that accrue a percentage of wage or a fixed wage amount (i.e. where the accrual type is Percentage or Fixed and the apply to type is Wage in the header of the leave type). Such absence types could, however, be selected on a timesheet by a timesheet initiator. This was inconsistent with absence types that are linked to any other leave types, which are available on a leave request and, by default, on a timesheet if the absence type has been assigned to a payee's employment type.

An enhancement has been made so that a payee or a leave manager will be able to submit a leave request for an absence type irrespective of the accrual type and apply to type of the leave type to which the absence type is linked, so long as the absence type is assigned to the employment type of the payee who is submitting the leave request or on whose behalf the leave request is being submitted.

Benefits

This enhancement provides consistency and simplicity in terms of which absence types can be selected on a leave request because this now driven by the employment type only instead of a combination of the employment type and accrual type/apply to type of the linked leave type.

Configuration

This enhancement means that if you currently have absence types that are assigned to employment types in the Payroll module and the absence types are linked to leave types that accrue a percentage of wage or a fixed wage amount, it will now be possible for a leave request to be submitted for those absence types.

If you do not want payees, or leave managers who submit leave requests on behalf of payees, to submit leave requests for such leave types you must remove the relevant absence types from any employment types to which the absence types have been assigned in Payroll > Maintenance > Employment Type.

For more information about managing employment types, see Employment Type Maintenance.
