How to Find an Existing Contribution Rate Rule

You can find existing contribution rate rules via the Payroll > Maintenance > Superannuation > Contribution Rate Rules. Once you find an existing contribution rate rule record, you can do the following:

  • open the record for viewing or editing in the Contribution Rate Rule Entry screen

  • delete the record if it is unused and is not required.

To find an existing contribution rate record, follow the procedure below.

1.

Navigate to Payroll > Maintenance > Superannuation > Contribution Rate Rules.

The Contribution Rate Rule Maintenance screen opens.

2.

In the search fields at the top of the screen, select or key in as much information about the contribution rate rule(s) you want to find as possible.

Name

Searches for existing contribution rate rules by the unique name of the rule. Leading and trailing wildcards (%) can be used. For example, %r will return contribution rate rules with names that end with the letter r while r% will return contribution rate rules with names starting with the letter r.

Contribution Basis

Defines the basis on which the contribution rate is applied. This field is mandatory. The options available are as follows:

- Percentage: indicates the contribution rate is based on a percentage of earnings

- Fixed: indicates the contribution rate is a fixed monetary amount

- Greatest Amount: indicates the contribution rate is based on a percentage of earnings or a fixed monetary amount, depending on whichever is greater.

Status

Searches for existing contribution rate rules based on their current status. This defaults to Any to allow searching regardless of the current status of a rule. Alternatively, you can select one of the following options:

- Pending: indicates the rule has been created but is not yet ready or available to be assigned to payees

- Released: indicates the rule is ready and available to be assigned to payees

- Inactive: indicates the rule still applies to those payees to whom it has already been assigned but it can no longer be assigned to any other payees.

RESC

Searches for existing contribution rate rules based on whether the RESC flag is set to indicate that contributions paid via the rule contribute towards reportable employer super contributions. When shaded, rules are returned regardless of whether they have the flag set. When ticked, only those rules that have the flag set are returned. When cleared, only those rules that do not have the flag set are returned.

SG Eligible Earnings Exempt

Searches for existing contribution rate rules based on whether the SG Eligible Earnings Exempt  flag is set to indicate that contributions paid via the rule will be accrued even if a payee does not meet the minimum monthly earnings threshold. When shaded, rules are returned regardless of whether they have the flag set. When ticked, only those rules that have the flag set are returned. When cleared, only those rules that do not have the flag set are returned.

Maximum Earnings Threshold Exempt

Searches for existing contribution rate rules based on whether the Maximum Earnings Threshold Exempt  flag is set to indicate that contributions paid via the rule will be accrued even after a payee exceeds the quarterly earnings threshold. When shaded, rules are returned regardless of whether they have the flag set. When ticked, only those rules that have the flag set are returned. When cleared, only those rules that do not have the flag set are returned.

3.

Click Search.

The contribution rate rules that match your search criteria are listed on the screen.

You can open any contribution rate rule record that is listed on the Contribution Rate Rule Maintenance screen after you perform a search for viewing and editing in the Contribution Rate Rule Entry screen by clicking on the view / edit icon next to the relevant contribution rate rule record in the list.
