How to Manage Existing Conditional Variables
Search for and list existing payee conditional variables
1 | Go to Maintenance > Conditional Variable and click on the tile. The Payee Conditional Variables Maintenance screen opens. |
2 | In the Country field, select the name of a country if you want to search for and list only those existing payee conditional variables that apply to a specific country. Alternatively, select Any Country to list existing payee conditional variables regardless of the country to which they apply. |
3 | In the Name field, key in the name of the conditional variable that you want to find and list. Skip this step if you do not know the name or if you want to find and list payee conditional variables regardless of their names. |
4 | Click the Active field until no tick or shading is displayed if you want to find and list only those payee conditional variables that are not currently flagged as active and therefore are unavailable on new payee records and leave types. Alternatively, click the Active field until it is shaded if you want to find and list payee conditional variables regardless of whether they are currently flagged as active. Skip this step if you want to find and list only those conditional variables that are currently flagged as active and are therefore available on new payee and leave type records. |
5 | Click Search. Existing payee conditional variables matching your search criteria are listed on the screen. |
Edit an Existing Payee Conditional Variable
You can edit any attributes of a payee conditional variable so long as it is yet to be used on a payee or leave type record. Once a payee conditional variable has been used on a record, you can only change its name and active status.
1 | Go to Maintenance > Conditional Variable and click on the tile. The Conditional Variables Maintenance screen opens. | Â |
2 | Search for an existing conditional variable. A list of the existing conditional variables that match your search criteria are listed on the screen. | Â |
3 | In the list of existing payee conditional variables, click the Action menu, then Edit next to the conditional variable that you want to edit. The Edit Conditional Variable pop up displays. | |
4 | Change any attributes of the conditional variable as required. If the conditional variable has already been used on a payee or leave type record, you can only change the name and active status. | Â |
5 | When you have finished making your changes and are ready to save the conditional variable, click Save. The Edit Conditional Variable screen closes and a confirmation message opens to indicate that the conditional variable has been saved. |
Delete a Conditional Variable
You can delete any payee conditional variable that is not required, so long as it has not been used on a payee or leave type record.

2 | Search for an existing conditional variable. A list of the existing conditional variables that match your search criteria are listed on the screen. | Â |
3 | In the list of existing conditional variables, click the Action menu, then Delete next to the conditional variable that you want to edit. The Delete Conditional Variable pop up displays. | |
4 | Click Delete. A confirmation message is displayed. | |
5 | Click Yes to continue to delete the conditional variable. The selected conditional variable is deleted and a confirmation message is displayed. |
