Accepted file types for Outlook Extensions attachments are configured in Recruitment Manager > Maintenance > General Items > Outlook Extensions. What is applied here will influence what is imported to FastTrack360 Candidate records.
Back Office
In the back office modules, attachments can be applied to the following areas:
Viewing / Downloading Docos
Google Chrome’s ‘Office Editing for Docs Sheets and Slides’ document preview plugin can be downloaded if required. This plugin opens MS Office documents in view mode in a new browser window and provides the ability to edit within the browser window, save locally and then use the FastTrack360 replace action to upload the edited document.
Clicking on an item within the Document/Attachment opens the document. If you use a browser plugin, the plugin’s method will be used. If a plugin is not assigned, the system will use the browser controls and either provide open options (as it currently does) or if the file is browser compatible i.e. *.PDF or images i.e. *.gif. If a user wants to view or edit properties, the ‘Properties’ action is available in the Action Menu.
In the Document/Attachment list, items like MS Office documents which can be opened directly in the browser as a PDF, the system will automatically display a PDF icon (shown in the example below). Where the PDF icon is clicked, the attachment will be opened in a new browser window as a PDF view. If you just click on the File Name in the list, the attachment will be downloaded with the original MS Office file type.  Note: depending on browser settings, when you click on a PDF icon, it might download instead of opening in a new browser window.
