Important Information About the SSID
The SSID is automatically generated the first time that a Pay Company record is saved after enabling STP reporting. Therefore, when you initially enable STP for a pay company, the SSID will not be populated on the Payroll Australia > Maintenance > Pay Company > Pay Company Entry screen until you save and reopen the Pay Company record.
If you update the ABN or Registered Agent ABN on the Pay Company record after the SSID has been generated for that pay company, the SSID might be updated automatically when you save the Pay Company record. Likewise, if you change the STP declaration type for a pay company from one of EPS or EMPS to one of RAPS or RAMPS or vice versa, the SSID might also be updated automatically when you save the Pay Company record. This is necessary to ensure that the SSID is valid depending on whether the ABN or Registered Agent ABN is unique and the new STP declaration type that applies to the pay company.
If you have already registered the previous ABN or Registered Agent ABN and SSID combination with the ATO, you will need to notify the ATO to update the details. Otherwise, the ATO will not recognise the ABN or Registered Agent ABN and SSID combination when you attempt to submit STP reports and the ATO will reject your submissions due to authentication failures.
Please be aware that the SSID will not update until the Pay Company record has been saved and therefore, if you do update the ABN, Registered Agent ABN or STP declaration type after STP reporting has been enabled for a pay company, you must reopen the Pay Company record after saving to check if the SSID has changed.
