How to Find Existing Deduction Headers

You can search for and list existing deduction headers via Payroll > Maintenance > Deduction Header. Once an existing deduction header is listed on the Deduction Header Maintenance screen, you can do the following:

open the deduction header record to view or edit the attributes of the deduction header
delete the deduction header record if the deduction header is not required.

To find an existing deduction header, follow the procedure below.

1.	Go to Payroll > Maintenance > Deduction Header. The Deduction Header Maintenance screen is displayed.
2.	If you know the name of the existing deduction header, key in the name in the Name field. You can use leading and trailing wildcards (%) for partial matching on the deduction header name. For example, %fee will return employment types with names such as Union Fee and Professional Association Fee while Extra% will return employment types with names such as Extra Tax.
3.	To search for deduction headers according to the type of deduction to which they correspond, select the relevant deduction type in the Deduction Type field. Otherwise, leave the default option of Any selected to search for deduction headers regardless of the corresponding deduction type.
4.	To search for deduction headers regardless of their active status, click Active until the field is shaded. To search for only those deduction headers that are not currently active (unavailable for use), click Active until the field is cleared (no tick and no shading). Otherwise, leave the Active field ticked if you want to search for only those deduction headers that are currently active (available for use).
5	Click Search. A list of deduction headers that match your search criteria are listed on the screen

You can open any deduction header record that is listed on the Deduction Header Maintenance screen after you perform a search for viewing and editing in the Deduction Header Entry screen by double-clicking on the relevant deduction header record in the list.
