Create a pattern

To create a pattern using a Pattern Template:

1

Select Add Pattern within the Normal Operating Days / Shifts section of a Client record, or within the Job Schedule section of a Job Order record.
The Client Shift Pattern or Job Schedule Pattern screen is displayed.

2

In the Select Pattern field, click on the drop down list and select the template required.
The pattern details are displayed and can be edited if required.

Manually create a pattern:

1

Select Add Pattern within the Normal Operating Days / Shifts section of a Client record, or within the Job Schedule section of a Job Order record.

The Client Shift Pattern or Job Schedule Pattern screen is displayed.

2

Enter in a Pattern Name.

3

In the Pattern Type field, if No of Days is required, select this option from the drop down list.

4

Enter in the duration of the pattern in the No Of Weeks or No of Days field.

Due to a known issue, patterns must not exceed 36 weeks or 255 days in duration. Therefore, when you create a new pattern or edit an existing pattern that you do not exceed these limits.

5

Select a shift code (attendance item) from the drop down list next to Shift Code.

The code is available to apply to the days within the pattern. Add a new code row by selecting '+' next to 'Shift Code'.

Remove a shift code row by selecting the bin icon next to 'Shift Code'.

6

Apply the Shift Code to the pattern to create a shift, by clicking on the day(s) required.

The days selected display the shift code's colour.

7

Edit Start TimeEnd Time and Breaks within the applied shift by placing your mouse over the shift. Right mouse click and select Edit.

For details on editing shifts, see To view or edit shift details within a pattern or schedule documented below.

8

To copy a shift's details to all shifts in the row, move your mouse over the applied shift and right mouse click. Select Copy and Apply to all.

Use 'Copy' and 'Paste' where you need to copy shifts individually.

9

When the schedule has been built, select Save.

The schedule or pattern is displayed in the record.
