Viewing the Components of an Agreement
The navigation pane within the Edit Pay Agreement screen allows you to access the various components of an existing pay or bill agreement respectively. Via the navigation pane you can select and display the following:
the agreement header
each primary interpretation header belonging to the agreement
primary interpretation rules belonging to each primary interpretation header
secondary interpretation rules belonging to the agreement.
The navigation pane features a separate section under which each of the above listed components is listed. Each of these sections can be expanded to display and access the associated sub-components. In the example below, the Secondary Interpretation section of the navigation pane has been expanded. Within the Secondary Interpretation section, the Pay Code Rules section has been expanded to display the pay code rules belonging to a pay agreement.
When you open an existing agreement in the Edit Pay Agreement screen, the navigation pane defaults to listing only those sets of primary interpretation rules and secondary interpretation rules within the agreement that have a validity period end date that matches or is later than the current date.

Display the Agreement Header
To display the agreement header, follow the procedure below.
1. | In the Edit Pay Agreement screen, if the agreements tab is not already displayed, click on the Agreement Header Tab. The Agreement Header pane is displayed at the top of the page, allowing you to view and edit the attributes of the agreement header. |
Display the Attachments
To display any files attached to the agreement, follow the procedure below.
1. | In the Edit Pay Agreement screen, click on the Attachments tab. The Attachments pane is displayed at the top of the page, allowing you to view, add and remove files that have been attached to the agreement. |
Display the Conditional Variables
To display the conditional variables belonging to an agreement, follow the procedure below.
1. | In the Edit Pay Agreement screen, click on the Conditional Variables tab. The Conditional Variables pane is displayed at the top of the page, allowing you to view, edit, add and delete conditional variables belonging to the agreement . |
You cannot edit, add or delete conditional variables if the agreement is assigned to a job order or job order template.
Display a Primary Interpretation Header
To display a primary interpretation header, follow the procedure below.
1. | In the Edit Pay Agreement screen, scroll down to the Primary Interpretation section and click on the arrow to the right. The Primary Interpretation section expands, listing each set of primary interpretation rules, as shown in the example. | |
2. | Click on the set of primary interpretation rules for which you want to display the primary interpretation header. Note that each set of primary interpretation rules is represented by a validity period (for example: 1/04/2010 – 25/01/214) or a single date (for example: 26/0 1/2014), in cases where the primary interpretation header does not have a validity end date. The primary interpretation expands to list the primary interpretation header and the primary interpretation rules, as shown in the example allowing you to view, edit or delete the primary interpretation header. |
Display a Primary Interpretation Rule
To display a primary interpretation rule, follow the procedure below.
1. | In the Edit Pay Agreement screen, scroll down to the Primary Interpretation section and click on the arrow to the right. The Primary Interpretation section expands, listing each set of primary interpretation rules, as shown in the example. | |
2. | Click on the set of primary interpretation rules to which the rule belongs. Note that each set of primary interpretation rules is represented by a validity period (for example: 1/04/2010 – 25/01/214) or a single date (for example: 26/01/2014), in cases where the primary interpretation header does not have a validity end date. The primary interpretation expands to list the primary interpretation header and the primary interpretation rules, as shown in the example. | |
3. | If the rule you want to display is the time rounding rule, click Time Rounding Rule. The Time Rounding Rule Entry pane opens on the right-hand side of the screen, thereby allowing you to view or edit the time rounding rule. If the rule you want to display is a midnight boundary rule, skip this step and proceed to step 4. If the rule you want to display is an unpaid break rule, skip this step and proceed to step 6. | Â |
4. | Click Midnight Boundary Rules. The Midnight Boundary Rules section expands to list the existing midnight boundary rules belonging to the primary interpretation header, as shown in the example below. | Â |
5. | In the Midnight Boundary Rules section, click the view / edit action to the left of the midnight boundary rule you want to display. The Midnight Boundary Rule page displays, allowing you to view, edit the rule. | |
6. | Click Unpaid Breaks. The Unpaid Breaks section expands to list the existing unpaid break rules belonging to the primary interpretation header, as shown in the example. |
Display a Secondary Interpretation Pay/Bill Code Rule
To display a secondary interpretation pay/bill code rule, follow the procedure below.
1. | In the Edit Pay Agreement screen, scroll down to the Secondary Interpretation section and click on the arrow to the right. The Primary Interpretation section expands, listing each set of primary interpretation rules, as shown in the example. | |
2. | Click the relevant pay code rule type depending on the type of pay code rule you want to display. For example, if you want to view a time rule, click the arrow to the right of the Time Rules section. The section expands to list the individual rules within the section, as shown in the example below. | |
3. | Click the view / edit button next to the name of the rule you want to display. The Pay Code Rule Entry page displays allowing you to view, edit the pay code rule. |
Display a Secondary Interpretation Pay Rate Rule
To display a secondary interpretation pay rate rule, follow the procedure below.
1. | In the Edit Pay Agreement screen, scroll down to the Secondary Interpretation - Pay Rate Rules section and click on the arrow to the right. The Primary Interpretation section expands, listing each set of primary interpretation rules. | |
2. | Click the name of the pay rate rule you want to display. The Pay Rate Rule Entry pane opens on the right-hand side of the screen, thereby allowing you to view, edit or delete the rate rule. |
