Editing Existing Pay Agreements

Attributes of an existing pay agreement can be modified depending on whether the agreement has been assigned to a job order or job order template and the applicable validity dates of the agreement and its components.
The table below lists the components of an agreement and the rules that apply to modifying each component.

Agreement Component

Rules

Agreement Header

If the Last Timesheet End Date field in the agreement header is blank, the following conditions apply:

  • all attributes defined within the agreement header can be edited

  • the agreement header can be deleted if the agreement is not assigned to a job order or job template

Pay rate rules on an agreement must either be assigned to the same hierarchy level and hierarchy value as the agreement header or a lower hierarchy value than the agreement header. Therefore, if you need to change the hierarchy level or hierarchy value in the agreement header, you may also need to change the hierarchy level and value to which pay rate rules have been assigned or, if the pay rate rules are no longer valid/required, delete the relevant pay rate rules if there is going to be clash with the new hierarchy level and hierarchy value at the agreement header level.

If the date in the Last Timesheet End Date field in the agreement header is equal to or later than the date in the Start Date field of the agreement header, the following conditions apply:

  • no attributes of the agreement header can be edited except the validity period end date, and this cannot be set to a date earlier than the date in the Last Timesheet End Date field

  • the agreement header cannot be deleted.

Note that conditional variables cannot be added to or deleted from an agreement header once the pay agreement is assigned to a job order or job order template. Attachments can be added to and removed from the agreement header at any time.

Primary Interpretation Header

If the Last Timesheet End Date field in the agreement header is blank, the following conditions apply:

  • the start and end dates of the primary interpretation header validity period can be edited

  • the primary interpretation header can be deleted.

If the date in the Last Timesheet End Date field in the agreement header is equal to or later than the date in the Start Date field of the primary interpretation header, the following conditions apply:

  • the start date of the primary interpretation header validity period cannot be edited

  • the end date of the primary interpretation header validity period can be edited but cannot be set to a date earlier than the date in the Last Timesheet End Date field of the agreement header

  • the primary interpretation header cannot be deleted.

If the date in the Last Timesheet End Date field in the agreement header is earlier than the date in the Start Date field of the primary interpretation header, the following conditions apply:

  • the start and end dates of the primary interpretation header validity period can be edited but must be set to dates that are later than the date in the Last Timesheet End Date field in the agreement header

  • the primary interpretation header can be deleted.

Note that deleting a primary interpretation header also deletes all primary interpretation rules belonging to the primary interpretation header.

Primary Interpretation Rules (Time Rounding Rule, Midnight Boundary Rules, Unpaid Break Rules)

If the Last Timesheet End Date field in the agreement header is blank, the following conditions apply:

  • the primary interpretation rules can be edited

  • the primary interpretation rules can be deleted.

If the date in the Last Timesheet End Date field in the agreement header is equal to or later than the date in the Start Date field of the primary interpretation header to which the rules belong, the following conditions apply:

  • the primary interpretation rules cannot be edited

  • the primary interpretation rules cannot be deleted.

If the date in the Last Timesheet End Date field in the agreement header is earlier than the date in the Start Date field of the primary interpretation header to which the rules belong, the following conditions apply:

  • the primary interpretation rules can be edited

  • the primary interpretation rules can be deleted.

Secondary Interpretation Rules (Pay Code Rules, Pay Rate Rules)

If the Last Timesheet End Date field in the agreement header is blank, the following conditions apply:

  • the secondary interpretation rules can be edited

  • the secondary interpretation rules can be deleted.

If the date in the Last Timesheet End Date field in the agreement header is equal to or later than the date in the Start Date field of the rule, the following conditions apply:

  • only the End Date field of the rule can be edited and this date can only be set to a date later than the date in the Last Timesheet End Date field in the agreement header

  • the rule cannot be deleted.

If the date in the Last Timesheet End Date field in the agreement header is earlier than the date in the Start Date field of the rule, the following conditions apply:

  • all attributes of the rule can be edited but the start and end dates of the rule validity period can only be set to dates that are later than the date in the Last Timesheet End Date field in the agreement header

  • the rule can be deleted.
