Hour Rounding Rules

When the Compare to Job Schedule option is enabled in the pay agreement header, time rounding rules define the time rounding parameters for time worked within the job schedule only. In such cases, hour rounding rules can be used in conjunction with, or instead of, time rounding rules.

Hour rounding rules can apply time rounding to the following:

  • time worked outside the job schedule only

  • time worked within the job schedule only

  • time worked within and outside the job schedule.

Therefore, if the same time rounding parameters are to apply to time worked within the job schedule and time worked outside the job schedule, the parameters can be defined by a single hour rounding rule rather than a time rounding rule and an hour rounding rule. However, if different time rounding parameters are to apply to time worked within the job schedule and time worked outside the job schedule, the parameters must be defined by separate time rounding and hour rounding rules respectively.

As with a time rounding rule, an hour rounding rule defines a rounding type and a rounding interval.

A single hour rounding rule can be defined within each primary interpretation header that belongs to a pay agreement. An hour rounding rule can be defined only if the Compare to Job Schedule option is enabled in the pay agreement header.
