Viewing the Process Queue

You can view a list of jobs that have been queued for processing at any time by checking the Queued Jobs panel on the Dashboard screen, as shown in the example below.

The Queued Jobs panel lists all jobs that are currently queued for processing, any jobs that have been successfully processed and any jobs that have failed to process successfully.

In the Queued Jobs panel you can do the following:

  • view information about each job in the queue

  • select a job that is listed in the queue and display the batch details for that job.

The ability to view the Queued Jobs pane on the Portal Dashboard is subject to a user security permission. If you cannot see the Queued Jobs pane on the Dashboard, contact your system administrator and check whether you have permission to view queued jobs.

Successfully completed and failed jobs remain displayed for a period of 24 hours by default. System administrators can change the length of time that successful and failed jobs remain listed respectively via system maintenance settings . For more information, see Queued Jobs Tile.

Viewing Information about Queued Jobs

The Queued Jobs panel displays a series of columns that allow you to identify each job that is currently listed in the queue.

Queue Number

Unique ID that identifies the order in which the listed job was queued for processing. For example, if this column displays a value of 1, this indicates that the listed job was the first job queued for processing. If this column displays a value of 23, this indicates that the listed job was the twenty-third job to be queued for processing.

Type

Identifies the batch type of the listed job. Currently the only batch type that will be listed is FI, which identifies a Finance Integration batch.

Batch ID

Displays the Finance Integration batch ID that identifies the batch to which the listed job corresponds.

User Created

Displays the username of the user who exported the batch via the Finance Integration module.

Date Queued

Displays the date and time that the listed job was queued for processing. This corresponds to the date and time that the batch was exported via the Finance Integration module.

Date Completed

Displays the date and time that the listed job completed processing or is blank if the job is yet to complete processing. The batch will not appear in the Finance Integration > Batch Maintenance until a date and time appears in this column.

Description

Identifies the current status of the listed job. This can be one of the following:

  • Queued - indicates that the job is queued for processing but processing is yet to start.

  • Processing - indicates that job is being processed but processing is yet to be completed.

  • Completed - indicates that the job has successfully completed processing. Note that jobs that have been completed successfully will remain listed in the Queued Jobs panel for a predefined amount of time, as Queued Jobs Tile.

  • Failed - indicates that the job failed to be processed successfully. For more information, see Failed Jobs.

Viewing Batch Details

You can view the batch details for any of the jobs that are listed in the Queued Jobs panel. For example, you can view details such as the types of transactions that are included in the batch (debtor, sales, wages, unpaid wages, un-invoiced sales).

To display the batch details, locate the row within the Queued Jobs panel where the relevant job is listed and click within the Description column of that row. The Queue Batch Details screen will be displayed, as shown in the example below.

The details shown in the Queue Batch Details screen are accurate up to the point at which the screen is opened. For example, if the job is still being processed the Queue Batch Details screen will show how many transactions of each type have been processed up until the current time. However, if the status of the job is Completed the information shown in the Queue Batch Details screen will reflect the final results of processing the corresponding batch.
