Parity Rate

A field to capture the parity rate for the agreement

  • The Parity Rate field will be visible when the Country Hierarchy AWR Active flag is checked on.

  • The field must be entered with a value. If you do not know the parity rate at the point the agreement is created, enter the same value as the pay rate. The rate can be modified up to the point the agreement is used in a timesheet that has been interpreted. Where the parity rate needs to change after that point, a new validity date would need to be created to apply the change going forward.

  • The Parity Rate field is only enabled on those rates that are of Type Flat Rate. This is because calculated rates are based on a flat rate and on a calculated rate, you enter the factor at which the flat rate should be affected by. The factor does not change for when a payee reaches parity. When the calculated rate is determined, the calculated parity rate will use the flat rate parity rate.

  • The Parity Rate value cannot be less than the pay rate value.

The Parity Rate field will be enabled to edit from between the date your system is upgraded to the date the next interpretation occurs that uses the agreement to allow you to avoid creating a new validity period.

However, if you do update the parity rate to something different and a payee has reached parity already, the system will assess those timesheets and adjust the pay automatically, which may not be the desired result.
