External references link a questionnaire page to one or more objects within the category to which the page is linked. For example, a page linked to the Office category is not necessary relevant to all agency offices. Therefore, one or more external references must be linked to the page to determine to determine the applicable agency offices.
It is not necessary to link external references for questionnaire pages created at the Country level of the category hierarchy. Such pages are linked to one external reference by default, that being the country to which the page belongs. You cannot delete the default external reference nor link additional external references to such pages.
To link a questionnaire page to external references, follow the procedure below. Note that the procedure assumes that a new page is open in the Page Entry screen.

2. | In the Search section at the top of the dialog box, type or select as much information about the specific external reference(s) you want to link to the questionnaire page and click . The search fields available depending on the category to which the category to which the page is linked and are listed and described below. Alternatively, just click to list all external references within the category. The list of objects in the bottom half of the dialog box lists the matching external references or all external references for the applicable category respectively. | |
3. | In the list of external references, click on the external reference to be linked to the questionnaire page. The external references you selected are highlighted. | |
4. | Click Select. The dialog box closes and the items selected are listed in the Available For list field on the Page Entry screen. |
Note that you can remove an external reference by clicking the X next to the relevant external reference within the Available For list.

To search for a specific agency brand, type the brand name in this field. Office External ReferencesThe following search fields are available when searching for external references applicable to the Office category: BrandAllows searching of agency offices by agency brand name. Any Brand is selected by default, which will list agency offices belonging to any agency brand that belongs to the county for which the questionnaire page is being created. If you know the unique ID of a job position, type the ID in this field. Position NameAllows searching for job positions by specific job position name, as defined in Portal > Settings > Maintenance > Keyword Library. To search for a specific job position by name, type the relevant name in this field (for example: Receptionist).
