You can add system-defined components and custom components to the layout of a document format. For more information about system-defined and custom components, see Layout Components.
To add a system-defined component to the layout of a document format, follow the procedure below.
How to Add a System-defined Layout Component |

If you do not have a document format open already, open a document format in the Document Format screen. |
2. |
In the Component List and Property Grid panel of the Document Format screen, click Components. |
3. |
Click the checkbox next to any listed component that does not display a tick. |
To add a custom component to the layout of a document format, follow the procedure below.
How to Add a Custom Component |

If you do not have a document format open already, open a document format in the Document Format screen. |

2. |
In the Component List and Property Grid pane of the Document Format screen, click Components. |

3. |
Click . |

4. |
In the Format Type field, select the type of custom layout component you want to add to the layout. For more information about the available layout components, see Layout Components. |

5. |
In the Name field, type a unique name that identifies the purpose of the component. |

Click . |

Note:
You can delete custom components that are no longer required by clicking on the relevant custom component within thecomponents list in the Component List and Property Grid panel to select the component and then click.
