Description

The Payday reports, which report on what has been submitted in a Payday Return or an Employment Details submission, have been enhanced to reflect the Payday Filing Version 2 format of the underlying electronic reports that are submitted to the IRD.

The pre and post submission report for Payday Returns now includes SLCIR and SLBOR columns which show the listed payee’s SLCIR and SLBOR deduction amounts if applicable. Note that because under V2 of Payday Filing a separate record is no longer sent for a payee’s main tax code, SLCIR deductions and SLBOR deductions respectively, these amounts are now consolidated into a single report line in the Payday Return report. An example of this is shown below.

The submission report for Employment Details submissions (Create, Update, Terminate) has been enhanced so the existing KiwiSaver Status column will display one of the following status names that are supported under V2 of Payday Filing and as selected in the KiwiSaver Status field in the KiwiSaver Details on their Payee record:

  • Eligible for Auto Enrolment

  • Active KiwiSaver Member

  • Casual/Temp Employee

  • Opting In

  • Ineligible

For more information about these statuses, see Changes to KiwiSaver Details.

A new column labelled Late Opt-out Reason has also been added and it displays the reason why a payee has opted out of KiwiSaver more than 56 days after commencing employment, if applicable. If a late opt-out applies to a payee, one of the following codes is displayed in this column based on the option that is selected in the Late Opt-out Reason field in the KiwiSaver Details on their Payee record:

INFO - Employer did not provide a KiwiSaver information pack within seven days of starting employment

IRIS - Inland Revenue did not send an investment statement upon allocation to a default scheme

ERIS - Employer did not provide an investment statement (for the employer-chosen KiwiSaver scheme)

EVNT - Events outside of control meant the opt-out application was unable to be submitted within the eight-week time limit

CRIT - Did not meet the criteria to join KiwiSaver INER - Incorrectly enrolled under the age of 18 OTHR - Other reason.

The changes to the submission report for Employment Details submissions are highlighted in the example below.

Benefits

These enhancements bring the Payday Filing pre and post submission reports in line with the format and data that is reported under the Version 2 of Payday Filing. For more information, see Support for Payday Filing V2 (Payroll NZ only).
