Before installing Outlook Extensions 2.0, any previous versions of Outlook Extensions need to be uninstalled. If Outlook Extensions isn’t currently being used, we recommend you check to see if Outlook Extensions is installed on the computer.
Below are details on how to uninstall and install Outlook Extensions.
Administrator rights are required to uninstall/install Outlook Extensions. If you don’t have Administrator rights to your computer, your IT Team will need to do this for you.
Uninstall Outlook Extensions
Even if the Add-ins menu isn’t showing in Outlook, it’s still possible Outlook Extensions is installed on the computer. You can check Add or Remove Programs to see if it's installed. Below are details on how to check this and uninstall it if it's installed
1.Open Add or Remove Programs
How to do this will depend on the version of Windows you are using. For most versions you can open it by pressing the Windows key on your keyboard, then start typing Add or Remove Programs. If you are unsure, check with your IT Team.
2.Check to see Outlook Extensions is installed
- Scroll down the list of programs until you find FastTrack Outlook Extensions - if it's not listed go to Install Outlook Extensions 2.0
- Check the version number:
- 1.00.0000 is an older version that needs to be uninstalled – go to Step 3
- 2.00.0000 Outlook Extensions 2.0 is already installed. Close Add or Remove Programs and check in Outlook that the Add-in Settings have been entered
3. Uninstall FastTrack Outlook Extensions
- Close Outlook
- Click Uninstall – accept any confirmation messages to uninstall
- Click Yes to “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device”
- Once the uninstall has completed close Add or Remove Programs
We recommend Outlook Extensions 2.0 is installed before opening Outlook again otherwise a "Installing Office Customization" error may appear when Outlook is opened. If the error does appear click Close.
Install Outlook Extensions 2.0
The installation process is the same no matter whether a previous version has been uninstalled or Outlook Extensions has never been installed. The only difference will be the Settings as these will need to be added if Outlook Extensions wasn't used before.
1.Close Outlook
2.Download the Outlook Extensions 2.0 installation file
3.Install Outlook Extensions 2.0
- On your computer, go to the folder the Installation file was downloaded to - this will generally be the Downloads folder
- Double click on the FastTrack Outlook Add-ins file – a InstallShield Wizard will appear
- Click Next
- Click Install
- Click Yes to “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device”
- Click Finish
4.Confirm/Enter Settings
- Open Outlook
- Click Add-ins menu – if Add-ins menu doesn’t show refer to Load behaviour of Outlook Extensions
- Click Settings - if Release: 2.0.0.0 doesn’t show in bottom left, close Outlook and go to Uninstall Outlook Extensions

- General Settings
- Comms Integration
- Proxy Settings tab
- Once all details have been checked, click Submit – if General Settings details are valid a ‘Settings saved successfully’ message will appear. If a different message appears go to Submit Errors
General Settings
If Outlook Extensions was previously being used these details will already be populated, check the details are correct. If the details are blank, enter your FastTrack360:
- URL - to ensure the correct URL is entered we recommend you copy the URL from your FastTrack360 login page
- Login details - if you change your FastTrack360 password, you will need to update the Password here
Comms Integration tab
This tab will only appear if Outlook Extensions has previously been used and you have permissions in FastTrack360 to sync emails.
If emails are not to be automatically synced to FastTrack360, ensure Enable Email Sync is unticked.
If Enable Email Sync is already ticked check the selected folders are correct or untick Enable Email Sync if you no longer want them to be automatically synced.
If Outlook Extensions hasn’t been used before to set this up, once you’ve successfully submitted details:
- Click on Settings
- Comms Integrations tab – if this doesn’t appear you don’t have permission to sync emails.
- Tick Enable Email Sync
- Select the relevant folders
- Click Submit
Proxy Settings tab
Only required if you use a Proxy ????
Tick Enable Proxy and enter the Proxy URL and login details.
Submit Errors
Username and/or Password is not valid – re-enter your FastTrack login details in General Settings tab
Must be a valid URL – the URL is not correct. Please go to your FastTrack360 login page, copy the URL and paste it in the General Settings tab
