Holiday types are used to group specific types of holidays that may need to be taken into consideration when interpreting pay and bill agreements. For example, a pay agreement may stipulate that a payee working in a specific role must be paid at a higher rate for any hours worked on a day designated as a public holiday. In order to indentify identify the relevant public holidays, a Public Holidays holiday type can be created to identify instances of applicable public holidays. The actual dates on which the individual public holidays occur are defined by holid ay holiday rules, which are linked to the relevant holiday type.
In Rates and Rules, holiday types can be used when defining midnight boundary and unpaid break rules within a pay agreement or a
pay-independent bill agreement. That is, different midnight boundary and unpaid break rules can be configured and applied to those days on which a holiday type applies. Holiday types are also used to define holiday type conditions within pay code rules and bill code rules for pay agreements and pay-independent bill agreements respectively.
Each holiday type has a Display On Job Schedule flag. When this flag is enabled, the holiday type will be highlighted in the job schedule on a job order in Recruitment Manager if the holiday type occurs on a day that clashes with a shift on the job schedule. This alerts the Recruitment Manager user to the clash so that they can remove the clashing shift from the schedule if necessary.
Holiday types must be configured before holiday rules can be configured.
