Description

Currently within the Candidate Record to view a resume a user needs to navigate to the resume section and click on a link (see changes to Document View and Download Improvements) or use the left hand menu to download.

To provide users with the ability to quickly see the contents of a resume, a new section has been added in this release called Primary Resume Preview. Now on load of the Candidate Record, a user will be able to see a Candidate's Primary Resume loaded in an i-frame within this new section.

By default this new section will display below the Resume section in Quick Access. A user can choose the order of this section via Manage Layout if required.

A left hand scroll bar is available within Primary Resume Preview so the user can scroll through the resume pages. A View Resume action, where selected, opens the section in a new full browser window.

Where there is no Primary Resume assigned to the Candidate Record, a message displays in the Primary Resume Preview section. If a user subsequently attaches a resume, the screen will need to be refreshed to load the primary resume into the Primary Resume Preview section.

This feature works with MS Office document attachments and converts items to PDF for display (PDF documents will also display as they are already converted). MS Office attachments include Word, Excel, Powerpoint. Where the Primary Resume document type is not a MS Office document type, the resume will not load into the section view. Where the browser used is Internet Explorer, there is no native PDF reader, so users will need to have a PDF reader installed to their PC for the feature to work.

A new item in Maintenance > General Items has been added to provide an agency with the ability to determine if the Primary Resume Preview section is loaded expanded or collapsed by default. For example, where the resume loads by default as expanded, it may impact slightly on the time it takes to load the candidate record.

Benefits

This change will save users time where they wish to quickly view the contents of a Candidate's resume within the Candidate Record.

Configuration

The new section will automatically display to users that have permission to Candidate > Document Manager. In Maintenance > General Items > General Settings - a new setting for 'Default Primary Resume Load' determines whether the section loads as expanded or collapsed (default).
