To configure the GL account segments and wage transaction grouping, go to Portal > Settings to Finance Integration > Maintenance > Finance Integration > GL Account Segments and follow the procedure below. Image Removed Note:

GL account segment and wage transaction grouping configuration is validity date-driven and therefore multiple validity periods can be defined, each with different configuration. The procedure below explains how to configure the GL account segments and wage transaction grouping settings from scratch if no prior validity periods exist.

If prior a prior validity period does exist you can add a new validity period. This creates a copy of the settings for the prior validity period, which you can then edit according the to configuration requirements for that period. For more information, see How to Add a New GL Account Segment & Wage Transaction Grouping Validity Period.

How to Configure the GL Account Segments & Wage Transaction Grouping:

 

1.

Click within the Add New Validity Start Date field and use the calendar control to select the date on which the configuration is to take effect.

The date you select is displayed in the Add New Validity Period Start Date field and the

Edit mode is enabled to allow you to add new configuration.

In the GL Account Segment section of the screen, click

A new, blank row is added to the GL Account Segment section of the screen.

In the Account Segment column within the new row, select the object to which the first account segment will correspond. For example, select Company if the first account segment is to correspond to a pay company (for wages exports) or billing company (for sales exports).

In the Rounding Export Code column within the new row, key in the export code that will populate the first account segment instead of the regular account segment value when a rounding line is written to an export file to identify rounding discrepancies.

In the Default BS Export Code column within the new row, key in the export code that will populate the first account segment instead of the regular account segment value when a candidate-based balance sheet transaction line is written to an export file if such transactions are to be posted to a generic balance sheet account. Alternatively, leave the Default BS Export Code column blank if the account segment value for this account segment is to be derived from the candidate home office hierarchy instead.

Repeat steps 3-5 for each account segment that is required to be included in the GL account structure mapping.

In the Available Grouping Options field within the Wage Transaction Grouping section of the screen, select any of the objects by which wage export transactions are to be grouped and click

The selected object is added to the Selected Grouping Options field.

Repeat step 8 until you have added all of the required grouping objects to the Selected Grouping Options field.

10.

If need need to change the order of the grouping objects, click on an object within the Selected Grouping Options field and then click

the up or

down arrow to move the object up or down within the grouping sequence respectively. Repeat this step as many times as required until the grouping options are in the required order.

You cannot move those objects that are part of the GL account segment mapping, as defined within the GL Account Segment section of the screen.

To save the GL account segment and wage transaction grouping settings , click
