Payee Leave Balance and Transaction Details Enhancements
Description
Changes have been made to the Leave Balance Summary and Leave Transaction Details sections of the Payee Leave tab on the Payroll > Payee > Payee Entry screen to help payroll staff to identify leave entitlement balances that have been rolled over into a carryover pot from one leave year to another.
A Carryover Amount column has been added to the Leave Balance Summary section to show, where applicable, the portion of a payee’s leave entitlement that is in the carryover pot. For example, in Figure 1 below, for the leave type Annual Holiday the payee has an overall entitlement balance of 240 hours of which 16 hours are in the carryover pot (i.e. have been rolled over from the previous leave year).
Â
In the Leave Transaction Details section, a Carryover Amount column displays the number of entitlement units that have been put into the carryover pot due to there being a reset (clearing down) of an entitlement balance at the close of a leave year and the remaining entitlement balance has been rolled over into the carryover pot. An example of that is shown in Figure 2 below.
When there is a reset of entitlement balances when a leave year is closed and remaining leave is put into the carryover pot, two separate Reset transactions are generated as follows:
one Reset transaction that clears the entire entitlement balance
one Reset transaction that adds the remaining leave entitlement balance into the carryover pot for the new leave year.
A Rest transaction is also generated and shown in the Leave Transaction Details section when the system automatically clears down a carryover pot where there is an unused balance in the carryover pot after a predefined period from the end date of the previous leave year. For more information, see Support for Leave Carryover Pots.
Benefits
These enhancements compliment the introduction of support for carryover pots in this release. By referring to the Payee Leave tab on the Payee Entry screen, payroll staff can determine, for example, if a payee has any leave entitlement balance in their carryover pot and what portion of the payee’s overall leave entitlement is in the carryover pot versus the current year pot.
For more information, see also Support for Leave Carryover Pots.
