How to Update an Existing Taxation Item

Once a taxation item record has been created it is possible to edit any of the attributes of the record. For example, you can do any of the following:

  • change the name of the taxation item

  • change the country to which the taxation item applies

  • add additional tax rates and corresponding validity dates

  • delete any obsolete tax rates.

An existing tax rate defined within a taxation item record can also be edited so long as an invoice does not already exist for the validity period of that tax rate.

A validity period for an existing tax rate can also be edited so long as the new validity period does not predate or postdate an invoice that exists for the original validity period.

To edit an existing taxation item record, follow the procedure below.

How to Update an Existing Taxation Item

  1.  

Navigate to Billing > Maintenance > Taxation.

The Taxation Maintenance screen opens.

Click Search.

Existing taxation items are listed in the Results section of the screen.

Go the row where the relevant taxation item is listed and click the View button at the start of the row where that item is listed.

The details of the taxation item are displayed in the Taxation Entry screen.

Change any of the taxation item attributes as required. For more information see, How to Create a Taxation Item.

5.

Click Save.

Your changes are saved and the Taxation Entry screen closes.
