Skipping Pay Batch Stages

Description

The Pay Wizard screen has been enhanced in this release so that while processing a pay batch, you can choose to skip from one pay batch stage to another so that you do not need to step through each pay batch stage manually.

A new Process to … field has been added at the top of the Pay Wizard screen. The field lists and allows you to select any pay batch stage that follows the current pay batch stage. You can skip forward to a specific stage by selecting the relevant stage from this field and clicking the forward arrow as shown below.

A new Rollback to … field has also been added at the top of the Pay Wizard screen. The field lists and allows you to select any pay batch stage the precedes the current pay batch stage. You can skip back to a specific stage by selecting the relevant stage from this field and clicking the back arrow as shown in the next example.

If you skip forward between pay batch stages, the system still calculates each pay batch in between without the need for you to step through each stage manually.

If you skip back between pay batch stages, any manual adjustments that have been made at any of the stages in between will be undone. For example, if you skip back from the Review stage to the Manual Items stage but there have been manual adjustments done at the Accrue Leave stage, those manual adjustments will be undone. However, employment terminations that have been triggered at the Termination stage will not be undone.

You can still step through each pay batch stage or step back through each stage by clicking the forward and back arrows respectively without selecting an option from the Process to … or Rollback to … field.

Benefits

This enhancement reduces the time and effort required to process a pay batch because you can skip pay batch stages that are not relevant without the need to step through each pay batch stage manually.
