Pay Groups are used to determine a candidate’s pay cycle, their tax weeks and subsequent tax scales. It is not possible to have overlapping tax weeks. A candidate can move between pay groups however the periods cannot overlap.

To manage a candidate frequently crossing two Pay Groups the Candidate should remain in the pay group that they predominately spend most of their time, generally this would be a Monday to Sunday group. If they work an occasional shift for a client that operates on a different Time Group cycle then the candidate should be placed in a Job order for just the day that they work. This job should not be extended and a new job order needs to be created for each engagement.

Timesheet End date determines which pay period it falls in

Example:

Candidate is in a Monday to Sunday Pay Group and they work occasionally on a Wed – Tue Client site.

If separate jobs orders for both shifts have not been added the whole week would fall into Mon – Sun Week 2 Pay Period. This will result in the Candidate being overtaxed.

If separate jobs orders for both shifts are added Thus shift would fall into Mon – Sun Week 1 Pay Period and the Tuesday in the Week 2 Pay Period. This will tax the Candidate accordingly.
