How do I make a product suggestion or tell FastTrack about an idea I have for a new feature or improving an existing one?

If you have a new product idea or would like a FastTrack product to work differently to the way it is designed, you can submit your ideas to the Idea Pool within FastTrack’s customer web portal.

What is an Idea Pool?

The Idea Pool was created to manage the many great  product ideas, suggestions, enhancement requests and feedback we receive from our customers.

It is a direct link to the Product Development team and it is where all product ideas are collected, traced and reviewed.

Our customers invest their time in providing ideas and we appreciate their significant contribution.

To improve our customers’ experience, we have taken steps to improve this service and have made submitting ideas and suggestions easier and faster.

We’ve also made some big changes to:

  1. how our product development team reviews and assesses this information when planning for a new release. And,

  2. importantly, how, what and when you know  what’s happened with your submission.

What happens after I have submitted my idea?

As each new submission is received, it’s:

  1. Registered in the Idea Pool and the Product Development team are notified,

  2. Registered to the company and person who submitted the idea, and

  3. A unique Idea reference number is assigned for easy reference and tracking.

Ideas are then shortlisted for scoping and are then considered for implementation during product release planning.

Our development team follow FastTracks’ product management process, which includes consideration of our product direction and roadmap over a 3-5 year planning period.

Can anyone submit an idea to the Idea Pool?

The Idea Pool is a service created exclusively for FastTrack’s active clients and is a FREE Support service inclusion.

How does your product team decide what ideas will make it into a release?

Our team reviews hundreds of ideas that come from our large customer base. We might even be developing features that overlap with your suggestion.

And, although we would love to include all the great ideas we receive, it really would not be practical or realistic.

So to make sure our FastTrack products continue to fit the purpose for which they were created, our team assess each idea against our business goals, our product roadmap, plus:

  1. Industry and technology changes and trends;

  2. Legislative changes and compliance;

  3. The value add to customers and the number of customers that will potentially benefit;

  4. Customer feedback and input;

  5. Fit into release timing;

  6. The balance between functionality and ease of use

How will I know if my idea will be included into a product release?

If your idea is included in a release, the main release page lists the enhancement items that have been included.

You will also be able to look for your idea using your unique Idea Pool Number in product release announcements and notes. That’s the number emailed to you each time you submitted an idea to the Idea Pool.

The Idea Pool Number will appear with each feature to be released.

Make sure your FastTrack subscription is current at the time of the release to ensure you get to see and use the idea you came up with implemented into the FastTrack product.

Will I know why my idea or suggestion has or has not been included in a release?

Please liaise with your Account Manager and they will be able to advise you on the status of your item.

However, because we receive hundreds of requests from our large customer base, we can’t guarantee that a detailed reason as to why your idea did or did not make the cut will be included in these updates.

What if I have an idea for a ‘must have’ feature?

Many of the best ideas have come from our customers in the recruitment and staffing industry.

We certainly welcome your thoughts, but we can’t include all the great ideas and suggestions we receive.
