Pay Groups are used to determine the pay period, tax weeks and tax scales.  It's not possible to have Taxation rules don't allow for overlapping tax weeks.

Candidate's who work at multiple Client sites that have different pay period week ending days can end up being overtaxed.  To avoid a candidate being overtaxed, we recommendBelow is the recommended approach to avoid overtaxing a Candidate:

  • In their the Candidate's Payee record, select the Pay Group that matches the week ending day of the Client 's they predominately work for, generally that the Candidate predominately works for. Generally this would be a Monday to Sunday group.
  • When the Candidate is filled on a Job Order, that has a different Timesheet Week End Day to the Pay Group in the Payee record,

  • Where the Candidate needs to occasionally work for a Client that operates on a different week ending day, separate Job Orders are needed to split the shifts across the Pay Group setup on the Payee's record.
    • A Job Order should not be extended. Instead create a new Job Order for each week.

When the Candidate works for a Client that has a Timesheet Week End Day that differs to the Pay Group in the Payee record, if the shifts cross over the Pay Group end day, sperate Job Orders should be created for shifts either side of the Pay Group end day.

  • When they work the Candidate works for a Client that operates on a different week ending day, separate job orders Job Orders should be used to split the shifts so they match the Timesheet end date matches the Pay Group selected in their the Candidate's Payee record. The jobs

  • If the assignment has to be extended F tghe Rather than extending the Job Order ny job, for the  s should not be extended, instead a new job order needs to be created for each engagement. Create new Job Orders,

  • This will ensure that the Timesheet end date matches the Pay Group selected in the Candidate's Payee record.

Info
Timesheet The End date of the Timesheet determines which pay period it falls in for tax purposes.

Example:

Monday to Sunday Pay Group is selected in the Payee record but they occasionally work a Thursday & Tuesday shift at a Client site with a Wednesday - Tuesday pay period.

If a single job order is used, both shifts would fall into the Monday to Sunday Week 2 pay period. This will result in them being overtaxed.

If separate job orders are used for each shift, the Thursday one would fall into the Monday to Sunday Week 1 pay period and the Tuesday one into Week 2. This will result in them being taxed correctly.
