Pay Groups are used to determine a candidate’s the pay cycleperiod, their tax weeks and subsequent tax scales. It is 's not possible to have overlapping tax weeks. A candidate can move between pay groups however the periods cannot overlap. To manage a candidate frequently crossing two Pay Groups the Candidate should remain in the pay group that they predominately spend most of their time
Candidate's who work at multiple Client sites that have different pay period week ending days can end up being overtaxed. To avoid a candidate being overtaxed, we recommend:
- In their Payee record, select the Pay Group that matches the week ending day of the Client's they predominately work for, generally this would be a Monday to Sunday group.

Timesheet End date determines which pay period it falls in |
Example:
Candidate has a Payee record with a Monday to Sunday Pay Group and they work occasionally on a Wed – Tue Client site.If separate job orders for both shifts have not been added the whole week would fall into Mon – Sun Week 2 Pay Periodis selected in the Payee record but they occasionally work a Thursday & Tuesday shift at a Client site with a Wednesday - Tuesday pay period.
If a single job order is used, both shifts would fall into the Monday to Sunday Week 2 pay period. This will result in the Candidate them being overtaxed.
If separate job orders for both shifts are added Thus shift are used for each shift, the Thursday one would fall into Mon – Sun the Monday to Sunday Week 1 Pay Period pay period and the Tuesday in the one into Week 2 Pay Period. This will tax the Candidate accordingly.result in them being taxed correctly.
Note |
---|
If they worked everyday at the Client site with a Wednesday - Tuesday pay period, only 2 jobs are required. The first job includes the Wednesday to Sunday shifts and the second job includes the Monday & Tuesday shifts. |
